How to Dance in Style
I was in dance for one year when I was little. My mom tells me that every week when she went to pick me up they would tell her I had complained of a tummy ache or headache and sat on the side and didn’t participate. Charlie is shy like I was at that age … but she does NOT let that hold her back from her love for dance. She started when she was 4 and I fell in love with dressing her for the part of course. The studio we go to does not have a dress code for the littles so I have been free to style her as I please.
If you are a fellow dance mom you know it is NOT easy to find cute and affordable dancewear! Here are my faves and even a NEW line from Target that I’m really excited about.
Alice and Ames. My favorite! The low cut backs are so sweet and I washed these babies a hundred times and they held up for years. Charlie sized out of this brand last year or else it would still be my go to! The built in skirt/leo is just magical. This brand runs true to size for Charlie. You guys are the FIRST to know this - but they are having a HUGE sale this weekend and you can try it out and see if you love them as much as I do! Use code SOLONGSUMMER starting Friday the 26th at 8am PT and it will end Sunday midnight the 28th.
2. Annie Casale – the sweetest playsuits ever. I used to score these on sale or from BST boards otherwise they are pricey in my opinion. If you have owned one you will see the amazing quality and craftsmanship in person. They are worth it though and super cute for photos or birthday parties as well.
3. Remie Girl – I love the ruffles details and the seamless bottoms are super comfy and highly recommended by Charlie. They offer blush and black for those dancers that DO have a dress code as well. In my experience with this brand I size up for Charlie. Her entire site is 30% with FREE shipping right now so snag one or two before your size sells out!! Now is the perfect time to stock up with all of these end of summer sales! I just ordered her the Blue Danube and Bloom as she is a big floral fan.
4. This Tribe of Three - I go wayyyyyy back with this brand. I designed her logo, used to shop her bloomers like a crazy psycho Instagram mom and now her leos are a go to as well. Charlie and I love the ruffle sleeves and color combos Steph comes up with. I have Charlie wear these with shorts or skirts and she also wears them to dance - super versatile! The brand runs true to size.
5. Target has a NEW dance line out and I was skeptical at first but after seeing it in store I’m totally in love. “More than Magic” line dropped July 13th and it was activewear, dance - ballet, tumbling and hip hope AND sleepwear. If your daughter is like Charlie they also have hand sanitizer, hair accessories, sequin bags and everything else she is obsessed with right now.
I have bought all of these brands several times and Charlie has worn them over and over so if you have any questions just let me know - we love to help you guys shop :)
